Hasan's Story

Hasan is the eldest of 6 children. He was born to a Muslim family in Urfa, Abraham’s hometown. His family wanted him to be raised as a Muslim, but he began to question Islam at a young age.  Throughout his schooling he felt he was being forced to learn the Arabic book and a culture, a lifestyle that was contrary to his own. After researching Islam and its leader on his own in Turkish and Kurdish he made a decision and fully rejected Islam. In spite of many trials and temptations and though he rejected Islam, there was still a deep hope in his heart that continued to long and search for God.

In 2021, he met Neşe Şirin, the pastor of a young local church in the town where they both lived. God established a deep mother-son relationship between himself and Neşe. Neşe was a single woman living alone and serving God whole-heartedly. She became a spiritual mother for Hasan. When Hasan first entered the church and met the church family, he experienced the same joy and happiness in his heart as John did when he was in his mother’s womb. The hope of God was ignited in his heart.

Hasan started volunteering at the church and learning the Bible became his focus and sole purpose. He finally felt that he was looking for God in the right place. Having met Jesus Christ, Hasan said, “This is my Leader” because he was a perfect Leader in terms of lifestyle. Hasan saw an exemplary life and the life God wanted in Jesus Christ. He believed and was baptized in 2022.

He met Mark & Michelle at his baptism and since then they have walked together for the kingdom of God, serving together in church and mercy ministries. After being baptized, Hasan continued to serve at church and in every way he could find.

Neşe’ began to have serious health issues. Feeling this spiritually, Neşe told Hasan, “God called you here for ministry” and then Neşe laid her hand on Hasan and started praying. “Accept this gift from God and let it change you,” she said. A week later, Neşe went to be wth the Lord and Hasan felt the weight of heavy spiritual attack for months. Hasan had to make a decision because there was a community that he would either continue to serve or give up, succumbing to spiritual attacks.

The Hope of the Kingdom of God was more ignited in Hasan’s heart because he trusted and believed in God very much. He began a week-long prayer process. As he read the Bible, the Holy Spirit spoke to him through Paul in Philippians 4:12-13. The Love of God in Hasan’s heart had overcome the spiritual attacks by the presence of the Holy Spirit.

At that week’s Sunday worship, as the church family worshiped and prayed together they agreed together and said to Hasan, “We feel that you need to lead us.” He prayed and began his church leadership ministry.

Continuing his ministry by listening only to the Bible and the Holy Spirit without any theological training, Hasan began discipling the community while he was still learning, following the model of discipleship and ministry that he learned through Neşe’s example. He shared the Good News with many people, has seen many come to faith in Jesus and baptized several people.

The February 6, 2023 earthquake in Turkey hurt his heart deeply. He knew immediately that he wanted to serve the people in that region.  Together with Hope4Nations, for the Kingdom of God he made several trips east, helping build tents, distributing food & clothes, visiting villages where the government and others had not helped.  In each place, together with other ministries and believers they planted seeds of God’s love in the hearts of many people in several cities and villages. As he served, as they served together in unity, they saw God work in those hearts and lives.  Some have believed, but many are now searching to know this God of love who came to them in their darkest hours.

Hasan now continues to lead the First Love Church of Ephesus in Selçuk/İzmir, devoting his whole life only to God and His service. His vision is to bring people who live far from God to God and share the love of God by sharing the miracles he has experienced in his own life.
